The rules of the road for using Trovo. Plain language, no surprises.
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Trovo ("Trovo," "we," "us," or "our") governing your use of trovohome.com (the "Site"), our matching service, and any related services (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract under the laws of your jurisdiction to use the Services. You agree to provide accurate information when you create an account or submit a project, and to keep your information up to date.
Trovo is a matching and coordination service. We:

Once a match is made, the contract for the work is solely between you and the contractor.
You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Don't share your password. Notify us at hello@trovohome.com if you suspect unauthorized access. You're responsible for activity under your account.
When using the Services, you agree not to:

Trovo independently vets each contractor on its roster. However, contractors are independent businesses, not employees or agents of Trovo. Any contract for work, scope, payment, or warranty is solely between you and the contractor.
If something goes wrong with a contractor — quality, scheduling, communication, payment disputes — please tell us at hello@trovohome.com. We take reports seriously and use them to maintain the integrity of our roster, but we are not a party to your agreement and cannot resolve disputes between you and the contractor on your behalf.
Any cost ranges shown on the Services (including AI-generated estimates) are general informational guidance only. They are not quotes or guarantees of price. The contractor provides the binding written estimate after the site visit.
The Site, the Trovo name and logo, and all content we create (including text, graphics, code, and the matching system) are owned by Trovo and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. We grant you a limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Services for their intended purpose. You don't acquire any other rights in our intellectual property.
Content you submit (project descriptions, photos, messages) remains yours. By submitting it, you grant Trovo a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, display, and process it as needed to operate the Services and provide you with matches.
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. Trovo doesn't warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any contractor introduced through the Services will meet your expectations.
You use the Services at your own risk. Any project you undertake with a contractor is your decision and your risk.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Trovo and its affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption, arising out of or relating to your use of the Services or any matched contractor's work, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Trovo's total liability to you for any direct damages arising out of or relating to the Services is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid Trovo in the prior twelve months (which is typically zero, since the matching service is free) and (b) one hundred dollars ($100).
You agree to indemnify and hold Trovo harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of (a) your use of the Services, (b) your interaction or contract with any contractor introduced through the Services, or (c) your violation of these Terms.
You may stop using the Services or close your account at any time by emailing hello@trovohome.com. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Services. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law) will survive.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Suffolk County, Massachusetts, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. You and Trovo agree to first attempt informal resolution by contacting hello@trovohome.com before filing any claim.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will provide notice (e.g., by email or a prominent notice on the Site) at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
